Woven Christmas Stars - Skills Social at Shoreditch Design Rooms Nov 30th

Thursday November 30th 7-9pm

Join Anna of The Hackney Quilter and Shoreditch Design Rooms for an evening of friendly chat and some mindful crafting. Anna will show you how to weave your own fabric star decorations, inspired by the traditional Danish paper Christmas decorations she makes with her family every year.

What to Expect?

You'll be greeted with warm smiles and a festive drink to kickstart your evening of creativity.  You'll have plenty of opportunities to make connections with fellow makers who share your love of creativity. You'll be able to chat, share ideas, and make new friends while you make and sip a festive drink and then take your festive creations home with you to decorate your tree, house or give as gifts.

Whether you're a seasoned crafter or just starting your creative journey, Anna will be on hand to guide you every step of the way. From beginners to experts, everyone is welcome and no sewing experience is needed. The inclusive and friendly crew at Shoreditch Design Rooms will ensure you feel comfortable and supported as you explore your creative side.

What to bring?
All you need to bring is your delightful self. A selection of fabrics in seasonal prints and colours will be there with all the supplies you need to make these cute decorations. You can let your imagination run free as you play with colours and shapes that speak to your unique style.

Throughout the evening, you'll have plenty of opportunities to mingle and jingle with other makers, exchange ideas, and share your progress. No pressure — just creativity, fun and some mince pies!

  • "Anna managed to give each individual a good amount of one to one time. She has a wealth of knowledge of the quilting world and so this intimate, informal setting was the perfect introduction and Anna was the perfect guide!"

  • “Thank you for a brilliant day. I'd had low confidence about approaching my first quilting project on my own, but after the workshop I feel really capable of starting something on my own, making design choices and working through the steps to make them come to life. It really gave me the boost I needed to work on my own project.”

  • "Honestly, I enjoyed it all. Brilliantly taught, methodical and patient, never hurried. The venue is great. The other people on the course were interesting and nice to be around. I'm really pleased with the quilting I did."

  • "It was such a great day! Anna is a calm, encouraging and thoughtful teacher, and managed everyone's different learning styles and levels really well."
